Bored Meeting is a static website. There are no accounts, no logins, and no database of users. This page describes what is and is not collected, and by whom.

What you enter into the tools

Nothing you type into any tool on this site is transmitted to us or stored anywhere. The bingo card, the cost calculator, the translator, the quiz and the rest all execute entirely in your browser using JavaScript running on your own device. Salary figures entered into the cost calculator, in particular, never leave your computer — there is no server to send them to.

Some tools remember state between visits (a daily puzzle's progress, for example) using your browser's local storage. That data stays in your browser and can be cleared at any time through your browser's settings.

Cookies and advertising

This site is funded by advertising and displays ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads, and may use data about your visits to this and other websites to show ads relevant to you.

You can control this. Personalised advertising can be turned off at Google Ads Settings, and industry-wide opt-outs are available at aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.eu. Google's own explanation of how it uses data from sites that display its ads is at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It records page views, approximate location derived from IP address, and general device and browser type. It is used in aggregate to decide what to write next, and it is not used to identify individuals.

Your rights

If you are in the UK, EU or EEA, the GDPR gives you rights over personal data held about you, including access, correction and erasure. If you are in California, the CCPA gives you comparable rights, including the right to know what is collected and to opt out of its sale — this site does not sell personal information. Because no accounts exist here, we hold no personal records to retrieve, but requests concerning data held by our advertising and analytics providers can be directed to them, or to us and we will point you to the right place.

Children

This site is intended for a working-age audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
